Hindmarsh Shire Council is reviewing the current Youth Strategy for 2021 – 2025 and is seeking input from young people ages 12-24 that are living, learning, and/or working in Hindmarsh Shire, stakeholders that are in direct/indirectly with young people, parents, guardians and carers to assist with updating our next Youth Strategy for 2025 – 2029.
This is your chance to tell us your thoughts about our current Youth Strategy, share your ideas and insights on what is working well and what is not, and provide us with information we need to create a Council that enables young people to thrive.
The survey may take 10 minutes to complete and aims to gather feedback on our current Youth Strategy 2021 – 2025. Council will use this information to review our current strategy to inform and guide the development of the 2025 – 2029 Youth Strategy.
Why this is important and how will the strategy be implemented?
The feedback collected will guide Council to provide the best outcome for young people over the next four years. The Strategy will outline how Council will work with young people, parents, schools, workplaces and service providers.
What we will be doing with the strategy?
The strategy will be a product of engagement with local young people, schools, community services, parents, guardians and carers. We will be doing this through meetings, surveys, consultations and discussions.
The information contained in this survey is confidential and will only be used by Council to inform decision making processes.

This consultation is open for community input to help Council review the current Youth Strategy.

Draft amended review presented to Council
this is an upcoming stage for Youth Strategy 2025 - 2029
Following the conclusion of the first community consultation period, Council officers will use the input provided to review and update the Youth Strategy.
This draft Strategy will be presented to Council at the October Council meeting for them to endorse another round of community consultation.

Following the Community review of the strategy being presented to Council, it will go out for a second round of community consultation allowing the community to provide feedback on the strategy prior to final adoption.

Reviewed Strategy presented to Council for adoption
this is an upcoming stage for Youth Strategy 2025 - 2029
Following the second round of community, Council will review feedback, make sure any required changed to the strategy and present the final version to a future Council meeting for final adoption.
Once adopted, the Strategy will immediately come into effect.
