As per the Local Government Act 2020 and Council’s own Community Engagement Policy, Council is required to undertake a community engagement process before entering into new leases with a term of 10 or more years.

The new lease Council intends to enter into is with Ambulance Victoria for the Rainbow Ambulance Station, located within the Rainbow Recreation Reserve.

Ambulance Victoria has utilised this facility for a number of years and plays an important role in the region’s emergency response efforts. Due to this, Council will be applying for the maximum available term for this lease: 21 years.

Council is seeking submissions from members of the community on Council's intention on entering into this lease. To do so, please complete the submission form below.

Submissions close 5pm on Friday 17 April 2026.

Once the consultation period has closed, if there are no objections received, the Chief Executive Officer will proceed with entering into the lease. If objections are received, the decision will be presented to Council at a future Council meeting.
