Nhill Caravan Park Masterplan

As part of its vision of being ‘a connected, inclusive and prosperous community’, Hindmarsh Shire Council has commissioned the development of a ten-year Masterplan for the Nhill Caravan Park.

The Masterplan will provide direction for one of Councils objectives in its 2021 – 2025 Council Plan and Community Vision 2040 of ‘having a strong tourism industry with quality accommodation options for visitors to the shire’.

The following infrastructure and service items were important considerations for inclusion in the Masterplan.

• New amenities block (existing amenities block was refurbished in 2021).
• Improved powered sites, accommodation cabins and improved vehicle / caravan access.
• Facilities for park users, eg camp kitchen, BBQ’s laundry, playground, etc.
• Consideration of funding opportunities as part of the ten-year implementation plan.

At its meeting on Wednesday 8 May 2024, Hindmarsh Shire Council endorsed the release of the Nhill Caravan Park Masterplan for community consultation and comment.

Council invited interested people to review the Nhill Caravan Park Masterplan and to provide comment in relation to the draft plan as displayed.

Responses closed at 5:00pm on Friday 7 June 2024 to enable the Masterplan to be presented to the Hindmarsh Shire Council meeting on Wednesday 26 June 2024 for final adoption.

Council held four community drop-in sessions for interested people to call in and discuss the Masterplan with Council staff.

Adoption of Masterplan

The final version of the Nhill Caravan Park Masterplan was adopted by Council at the meeting held 5 February 2025.
