The purpose of the Public Interest Disclosure Policy is to establish a policy and procedure for reporting and handling disclosures of improper or corrupt conduct, or detrimental action, by Hindmarsh Shire Councillors, special committee members or employees.
The Public Interest Disclosure Policy has been reviewed against legislation and with organisation context to ensure ongoing relevance and reliability. Minor administrative changes to wording for clarity and the addition of further detail in definition of improper conduct for consistency with the Public Interest Disclosure Act (2012) have been made.
There have been no changes which significantly alter the intent of the existing policy.
